Nominations 2022
It’s election time!
As an official club of the UVSS, each year we receive nominations and hold an election for our exec team positions.
Here’s where you can make your official nominations. Please read through the details below before making your submissions.
You can submit your nominations online until the deadline of March 25th @ 11:59 PM.
How do I make a nomination?
You can submit your nominations through the form on the right/bottom of this page.
We ask that you are prayerful and discerning when making your nomination. Use this opportunity to encourage the potential you see in your fellow UCMer.
Here’s a couple rules:
We are looking for servant leaders.
A servant leader is someone who can lead others, but does so by willingly serving others. We desire that our leadership team is marked by their servant-like quality, not attracted to popularity, position or power.
Current leaders are eligible to be re-elected. Additionally, you can also make suggestions to the staff for non-elected roles, like Core Facilitators and Worship Leaders.
What does the exec team do?
The primary purpose of the exec team is to keep the vision and mission of UCM at the forefront of all that we do. They help students to get connected, to belong, to serve, and follow Jesus while at UVIC.
As an official UVSS Club, the exec team acts as the elected executive team and represents the club to the Students’ Society and the University.
What are the responsibilities and duties of each role?
A detailed explanation of the responsibilities and duties of each role can be found here: UCM Exec Roles
What level of commitment is expected?
The exec team meets weekly (day/time varies each semester) during the school term to plan and pray.
As well, the team attends a leadership training retreat in September and a leadership day in January.
It is expected that a student executive would fulfill their role and responsibilities for one school year beginning in April 2022 and ending in April 2023, with the option of becoming re-elected for the following school year.
How does the nomination process work?
When a member receives a nomination they will be informed by a staff member and will be asked to pray about the nomination.
The nominee must discern and decide if they would like to let their name stand. If they accept the nomination, they will then have to fill out an application, to be submitted to a staff member.
Once the nominee’s application has been approved, their name will then be on the ballot. All exec candidates will be announced on or around March 31st..
If a position lacks a candidate willing to stand for election, the current exec team will discern additional candidates to be asked.
Our Election Night will be will be held online Thursday April 6th, where UCM students will vote in the new student executive team.

- You may only nominate 1 person per position, as you’ll only be able to vote for one person per position at the election.
- With that in mind, you may make as many nominations as you like.
- You may nominate yourself for a role, but someone else must nominate you as well to be considered for that role.
